On Tuesday, May 3, in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the 51st Annual National Association of Church Personnel Administrators (NACPA) Convocation, Executive Director, Fr. Frank Donio, SAC received the 2022 Leadership Award. This award was given by the Board of Directors of NACPA. The NACPA Leadership Award recognizes a current member, member organization or loyal partner who has demonstrated exemplary leadership on behalf of just treatment in the Church workplace. Fr. Frank has been a presenter for NACPA’s Certificate Program for Those Moving to Human Resources Responsibility in a Catholic Workplace on the topic of Catholic Social Teaching in a Catholic Workplace since the program’s inception in 2018. In 2019 Fr. Frank co-authored NACPA’s seminal publication, Just Treatment for Those Who Work for the Church, second edition. The publication is available for purchase here.

In his acceptance remarks, Fr. Frank Donio, SAC, said, “The desire for just treatment in the Catholic workplace is not simply aspirational. It is achievable. With faith, formation, and dedication, greater justice occurs. Will we do it perfectly on this side of life? Probably not. In this area, though, we cannot simply accept “we have always done it this way,” if that way does not correspond with Catholic Social Doctrine.”
