New Leader Workshop (4 online sessions)

Loading Events

Moving into leadership as a major superior or councilor means taking on new responsibilities. Whether you are new to the role, returning to leadership, or have been in leadership for a year or two, our New Leader Workshop for CMSM members provides practical resources, expert speakers, and a chance to spend time with others in a similar situation to share experiences, questions, and challenges that will strengthen you in your role.

This fall workshop was added at the request of members and will be held online as a streamlined version of the in-person workshop (typically held over 2-1/2 days). The workshop is $125 (additional participants from your institute are $100), which includes all four, two-hour sessions (Tuesdays, 2:30-4:30 p.m. ET):

  • Nov. 3: New Leader Essentials (10 in 30, leadership styles, and resources)
  • Nov. 17: Administration Fundamentals (canon and civil law, HR and finances for leaders)
  • Dec. 1: Safeguarding and Personnel Challenges (safeguarding and navigating personnel issues among your men)
  • Dec. 15: Communications and Partnerships (communications and media for leaders, collaborators in retirement, formation and vocations, and serving as leader and brother)

Participants are encouraged to send questions or issues in advance that they would like addressed or to share them during the workshop.

Space is limited. Register here. If you have questions, please contact Susan Gibbs.
